It's America's birthday and for New Yorkers, the festivities - from fireworks, to barbecues, and clubs -are nonstop. Summer's here and it's time for everyone to celebrate. Fire Fire In Manhattan, the ultimate Fourth of July party is, of course, the annual Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks. With six barges in the Hudson, expect a fireworks show to remember. The light show starts at 9:20 p.m. and the New York Pops Orchestra and Mormon Tabernacle Choir will provide the tunes. Also tapped to perform - Straight No Chaser, Broadway Inspirational Voices, U.S. Army Soldiers and United We Sing. Traffic will closed until The theme is American Harmony. Party and Party and Party Need a place to party it up in the sun? Head to Brooklyn Fire Proof/ Nut Roaster. This Brooklyn hangout is part bar, part art gallery with a stage to boot. Aptly called "Sunday Best," this Fourth of July will have fresh ground burgers, corn on the cob and hot dogs from Taccolada. Rich Medina is djing, along with resident Djs Justin Carter, Eamon Harking and Doug Singer. Party starts at 3p.m. Admission is $12. Hot Dog! We've all heard of the great Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest. As usual, the contest takes place at Nathan's in Coney Island. Rooftop Viewing Hudson Terrace is having a fireworks viewing party as is Press Lounge at Ink48, which has a lavish wraparound terrace. For a cool $225, you can get an open bar and plenty of fancy appetizers. Of course, there will be Champagne as well. Another option is the Sky Room at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Times Square. No matter, what you do or where you go, whether it be in Manhanttan, Brooklyn or Queens, there's bound to be a celebration. Just follow the fireworks and wish America a very, Happy Birthday.

The Summer Birthday Bunch
As of Monday, summer is officially here and with that comes heat. For birthday boys and girls in June who want to party celebrity-style in the Big Apple, look no further than here for NYC celebrity birthday guide.
In New York, all types of celebs gather to party, but they don’t all have the same tastes:

The Jetset Fashion-y, post-Project Runway types:
Remember when fashion was filled with high-power kings and queens like Versace, Gucci, and Chanel? These titans still reign, but new fashion’s got a different attitude. In New York, for the fashion forward birthday peeps can party any day of the week especially during high fashion season. In the summer, there’s fashion benefits galore along with show debuts. One standard celeb/model hangout is actually the Standard, which has the prequisite rooftop and then there’s always Chelsea where warehouse parties abounds.

Celeb Heavies Only
New York is the playground for the rich and famous, and the nightspots make sure to cater to the VIP. Which means hard-headed doorman, costly bottle service and, of course, uber-exclusivity. These hangouts are truly celeb playgrounds for heavyweights and the extremely lucky.

Tejune: Notable for turning away celebs like Entourage’s Kevin Connolly, but great for street cred.
Rose Bar: Lux pleasure dome with names to match:Olsen twins, Penelope Cruz, David Bechkham. They’ve got a killer drink menu too.
The Box: What more can you say… LES, speakeasy with a cool celeb crew mixing in with the hipster LES crowd.

The Lohans, debutantes and Socialites (pre-rehab)
The Eldridge: Everyone from Lydia Hearst to Padma Lakshmi comes to this eclectic hangout.
And then there’s classics like Beatrice, and Stanton Social always draws a crowd with its mix of bands and bar – who can complain?

Either way, whether you’re a true blood, from the Block New Yorker or transplant, Summer’s calling. Get in from the heat.

NYC Blaze: Too. Hot? Hit the A/C PDF Print E-mail

New Yorkers may complain about the dog-in-crate feel of winters – nobody’s out, slippery sidewalks, and not enough scotch to go around, yet when summer’s heat creeps around, some New Yorkers (don’t worry, we know you’re out there) tend to like the cooler climes where A/C rules, and UV rays are none the wiser.

For the NYC Party Girl or Boy who wants to keep that shiny sheen to a minimum, there’s plenty of places to roam - all the while making like you partied in the Cayman’s for a hot minute.

In June, the party in New York is always evolving. Case in point, the number of bar openings in June. Here are a few:

Casa Mezcal: Think of it as an authentic Mexican cantina, but north of border, no fear or running into Juarez-style cartel here. Casa Mezcal is just as the name says, a bar dedicated to the many flavors of mescal. Beverages include free flavoring bites of orange, salt and agave worms.

Upstairs: Another rooftop bar, this one’s located on the 31st floor of Kimberly Hotel and is 4,000 square feet of lux. Can anyone say heated floors, 360 degree views, and retractable glass ceilings and walls.

Branded Saloon: Hold onto to your steed, Branded takes cowboy culture to new heights. For your pleasure,  Branded has an authentic foot-powered piano complete with ragtime and Western tunes, 12 microbrews, of course, plenty of whiskey. Yeeee-Haw!

Loreley Williamsburg: For the beer garden enthusiast. This sister locale of the LES German beer pub, Loreley is modeled after the famous Brauhaus in Cologne, and has all of your favorite German beers (Hofbrau Maibock, Spaten Lager, Kranz Koelsch to name a few).

Done Drinking: Shop till You Drop

Need a break from the bar scene? Take some time out for retail therapy. June offers sales galore- a perfect excuse to find yourself some new threads while shopping for that ideal birthday gift.

Sample sales abound and New York ’s got them every week. In June Helmut Lang, Vena Cava, Catherine Malandrino and Y-3 are offering steeping discounts on designer duds.

Of course, there’s always Saks, where you not only shop, but also can throw a cocktail party or corporate reception. Plus, Saks has two powerhouse restaurants with a delectable selection of international fair.

There are new boutiques opening up in June as well:

Black Gold: This Brooklyn boutique offers a speakeasy feel and an electic mix of records, taxidermy and antiques.

Longchamp has  a new home. Two words: Parisian Chic

Petit Boudoir: a new vintage store with designer finds like Givenchy and Ralph Lauren.

Jumbo pop-up shop: Sneaker paradise

So there you have it, for a cool ride  in NYC you can do a little afternoon shopping, then don the new threads for the party later.
